About Austin City Brass Ensemble

Austin City Brass Ensemble
is comprised of some of Austin’s most accomplished musicians as well as visiting artists from around the country. The players include professors at The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University at Kingsville, University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, Southwestern University, the University of Buffalo and SUNY-Fredonia. The players also include members of professional ensembles throughout the country, such as the Austin Symphony, Austin Lyric Opera, Ballet Austin, Buffalo Philharmonic, St. Louis Brass, Corpus Christi Symphony, and the Pinnacle Brass Quintet.
Stefan Sanders and Joel Bright formed the ensemble in the summer of 2006 in an effort to provide high-level performances of some of the finest brass music to the community. The core of the group is made up of the members of Austin’s-own Austin City Brass, a brass quintet that has been performing throughout the Austin area since 1998. The quintet is on faculty with the Austin Chamber Music Center and performs regularly in both professional and educational capacities.

Austin City Brass Ensemble presented their inaugural concert on August 11, 2006 at Saint Mary Cathedral in Austin, Texas.
